[22nd February 2007] March Gig
Everybody loved Bar Bloc so much that we've decided to return. Again it's free, but Wednesday March 14th this time.
[19th December 2006] January Gig
Following the phenomenal response to the new album, Marshan will be playing a special free show for their loyal west of Scotland fans. You can catch them at Bar Bloc (Hope Street) on Thursday January 25th.
[20th October 2006] New Album released 30th October - Album Lauch Show
Marshan's third release, "Brought To You by the Goodtime Girls", will finally see the light of day on October 30th through Beard of Stars Records. Production duties were handled by Duncan Cameron (Jerry Lee Lewis, UK Subs) and mastering courtesy of John Golden (Sonic Youth, Crazy Horse), while the cover art comes from the mind of Malleus.

There will be an album launch show at Glasgow's newest music venue, Capitol, just near the Garage on Sauchiehall Street on November 13th.

For more information and song downloads click here.

The new record focuses on the rock fury found in the band's live performances, being described by one reviewer as having "primordial energy and a certain malicious sexuality and Californian sleaze".

Copies can be had from here for a mere £10.

[7th October 2006] US Tour
July saw Marshan trek 4705 miles round the western USA playing to all manner of drunks, bums, students, stoners and other interested onlookers. A fantastic time was had by all and with any luck we'll be back to see you again, hopefully it won't take so long this time. A tour diary will shortly be posted over on HellrideMusic.com

More importantly, the long awaited new album is finally about to see the light of day. "Brought To You by the Goodtime Girls" should be available October/November through Beard of Stars Records. Production duties were handled by Duncan Cameron (Jerry Lee Lewis, UK Subs) and mastering courtesy of John Golden (Sonic Youth, Crazy Horse), while the cover art comes from the mind of Malleus.

[1st June 2005] Marshan Become 3 - Special Gig 7th July
It is with great regret that we announce that Scott Miller (Guitar) will be leaving Marshan. The split is entirely amicable, and comes after nearly a decade of working together under varying guises.
Over this ten year period Scott has given determination, commitment and true friendship, and his presence will be missed. Despite the departure, Scott has finished up the recording of the new album, which is being completed today. At present the release date for the record will be late 05/early 06.
From Scott:
"After nearly 10 years playing guitar (and assorted other instruments) as part of Marshan
(aka Death and Decay and Dying Sun in years past!), I've made the difficult decision to
         leave the band.
As with most big decisions, it's not been simple, and it's taken me a long while to come
to this decision - but the underlying reason is that I'm just not enjoying it as much as I
once did. And at the end of the day, what's the point in keeping going with something
when your heart's not fully in it anymore?
The past ten years have been unforgettable - the tours, the studio sessions, the dumb-ass
(yet strangely cool and compelling) ideas ("Hey, let's drive to Erfurt in a transit!") - not stuff
you forget in a hurry. The other three guys in the band are very good friends, and I'll still be
around to help them out - just from the audience side of the stage from now on! I wish them
all the best of luck in the future (not that they really need it!)."
In addition to this, the band will be playing one final show with Scott at the Glasgow Barfly on Thursday July 7th (see Tour Dates for more info). This will be a special show, and a few surprises may be thrown in for good measure.
Marshan will continue as a three piece (Malcolm Thomson - Drums, Graeme Duff - Guitar/Vocals, Kevin Burges - Bass) for the coming months but are keeping options open as to the future. Anyone interested in jamming, give us a shout.
Finally all our thanks and best wishes go with Scott.
